About Dahlonega Carriage & Horseback Rides
Dahlonega Carriage and Horse Rides is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the North Georgia mountains. We offer an outdoor experience unlike any other that you’ll find east of the Mississippi! Dahlonega Carriage and Horse Rides Company offers a taste of the old west with horseback trail rides, carriage rides, dinner wagon rides, hayrides and more! We provide a number of packages that are perfect for individuals, families and groups!
We even offer unique, scenic, horse-drawn carriage rides in Dahlonega with the highlight of the experience being a great cook-out! Our rides are perfect for all skill levels so whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider you will enjoy yourself.
We are located within the Forrest Hills Mountain Resort just eleven miles outside of Dahlonega, Georgia and we’re within walking distance to and from most of the resort’s cabins and retreat accommodations. Dahlonega Carriage and Horse Rides is independently owned and operated.

Kind people and horses
My 10 year old and I went on the hour ride while my older daughter and husband decided to hang out at our lodge. The owners and guides were all extremely friendly and even mentioned they give free birthday rides for kids. Our guide Timmy was really sweet and we enjoyed talking about his art work. The horses were gentle and we saw a Doe and her baby which was extra special. I highly recommend this stable.

Great Birthday Treat!
Great way to spend a birthday! Very relaxing and tranquil. The 1 hour guided tour was the perfect amount of time for us novice riders to take on a first try. Our tour guide was very informative and helpful. They even match your "personalities" to your horses and give instructions on how to hold the reigns, etc., before you take off. However, sometimes the horses had a mind of their own, which just made it all the more fun, with more laughter and greater memories.

Amazing experience!
The people here are amazing! The manager was so sweet, accommodating, and willing to work us in if the weather ruined our scheduled time. Our guide was sweet as can be, constantly stopped to check on us, and actually engaged in conversation with us the whole ride. The horses were amazing, and my husband’s horse had me laughing the whole time! I truly couldn’t say enough great things about this place!

Great experience.
Logan was a great guide. He handled the horse VERY well. At one point we had big utility trucks, & well drilling trucks pass us. The horse you could tell was nervous of those trucks. Thankfully Logan knew what he was doing and kept the horse under control. Great experience.

Wonderful horseback riding
This was a great family-run operation well off the beaten path. The owner and his family were friendly and fun to be around. Small operation but the horses were well loved and taken care of. The trails go through the wooded areas and hills so it is scenic. Fair prices for riding and they provide helmets for anyone under 18. We can’t wait to go back.

I was surprised with a horseback riding trip for my birthday. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Our tour guide was the best! He was so funny and very personable. The horses looked healthy and very well kept. We greatly enjoyed it. We will be coming back soon for the 2 hour ride to the mountains.
